My Weber Grill Rail Mount

I just wanted to share some photos of a rail mount I made for my Weber Q Grill. This is a very popular grill and it is unfortunate that no one really makes a mount for this. I’ve read many posts around the internet of people asking how to mount a Weber Q grill to a rail.
I used it for the first time yesterday and it was rock solid. I was anchored and had several large boats come by with very large wakes. No problems at all with the grill.
The grill is not permanently mounted to the stand and can be removed by hand in a few seconds. The actual stand is not permanently mounted to the rail. It just slides over the top of the rail. Entire setup takes 30 seconds.

Did you use left over fence panels to make that? and did you stain them or treat them in any way?

I'm always amazing by some of the creativity shown by pontoon boat owners, especially some of the ones on this forum. Well done guys!
I added a "grill station" over the winter (

Onlybillhere, I basically built this with stuff I had laying around. The only thing I had to buy was the two door locks and some bolts and nuts. Yes, those are fence panels I had. I forget what the width was but they were the perfect size to take up space between the pipes and rail. I did through a little deck stain on them but ran out. They actually could use another coating. Since this setup is not permanently mounted, it will not sit out in the weather so I’m not really worried about it.
This boats sits on the river from May to October. I can’t have the grill permanently mounted because of the custom fitted cover on it.
I didn’t want to really spend any money on this stand until I tested it to see how sturdy it would be. In the future, I think I might replace the top and use a cutting board. Just not sure yet.

pretty ingenious, i like that it is totally removable. Once i finally get my pontoon back from the shop I might have to do a mod like this.
