Steering on Hurricane deck boat
I recently purchased a 2015 Hurricane SS202 IO deck boat. This is my first experience with a deck boat of any kind or with an IO engine. In general we love the boat but I find it won't track in a straight line at low speed. I assume that's due to the weight distribution making the back of the boat much heavier than the front but wanted to ask people with more experience if that's typical for this type of boat. Thanks for any feedback.

Sorry, just to be clear, I'm not saying that the boat tracks to the left or the right. I'm saying that the front end seems light and just bobs and back forth instead of tracking straight.

"Bow Wander" is pretty common at low speeds on stern drives

Thanks for the info!
Re: Steering on Hurricane deck boat
We had a Hurricane 248 Fun Deck GS with a 200HP Saltwater Series Yamaha outboard. It always wandered at very low speeds, and didn’t back up worth a crap either.
I don’t think it was a Hurricane problem as much as a monohull problem...
