I have a yamana 75 four stroke.. basically same engine as your 90. Just had a new water impeller put in at the beginning of this season. Didn't take it to the dealership, but I had a boat mechanic do it for me.. just pulled my receipt so I wouldn't be telling you any lies... looks like the water impeller was 32.64 and he charged me 100 bucks labor... total would be 132.64 plus tax. Hope this helps... ( and of course my boat hasn't hit the water once this year since I had it serviced.. aint that the way it always goes. )

Thanks Roland. The Dealer want's $150 to $175 depending how many gaskets I might need and includes Grease and Oil Change. Talk about using your boat, mine is a 2012 and has 22 hrs on the motor. I don't cruise much, just go to a cove and start to chill and BBQ. Thinking of selling it. Safe Boating

Capt Sully, That sounds about right for a Dealer.
Are you sure that you need it? Twenty two hours - wow.

Well I'm sorry to say , I just have not used the boat this past year. I put the cuff on and started right up, but no water flowing. I connected to the flush out tube and it was fine. I'm sure the impeller is dried out and broken ...

My Yamaha 115 had had been sitting for 3-1/2 years before I bought it. After replacing the old impeller (which looked great and was not brittle) I had zero water flow from the proof hole - no pee stream.

I pushed the little red tube on a can of WD40 up there, and shot some up in. After a couple of shots, it started flowing normally. Turned out to be a plug on the proof hole/tube, likely due to mud wasps. If your boat is on the water, you could do the same thing with a thin piece of wire.

Marc, just curious, when it was plugged up did you get an alarm? I ask because there was this one particular boat launch that I used to use.. very sandy / shallow bottom at the launch.. every time I launched my boat there I would get an alarm.. didn't have any wire on board, but I did have a spool of weed eater line on board ( I have no idea what I was doing with weed eater line on the boat, but it was in one of my tackle boxes ).. anyway my wife would sit on the back deck and shove weed eater line into the pea hole, then I would try and crank her up.. first couple of time she would spit a little water out but then clog up again.. 3 or 4 times of doing this it finally opened up.. I use a different launch now, much much deeper right off the ramp.

Hi Roland,

Nope, no alarm - just no stream from the proof hole.

My motor is an old year 2000, which is the first year for the fuel injected F115, 4 stroke - could be different on newer models. The only alarm that I've ever heard is the low oil pressure alarm for a couple of seconds, and only right after changing the oil and filter. I am assuming that is while the filter gets re-saturated.

Hard to believe that it's coming up on 20 years old, but it runs strong - and I am very happy with the fuel burn rate cruising at 4000-4400 RPM.
