A small victory won

#1 Post by onlybillhere » Fri Aug 09, 2019 9:12 am

So i just wanted to share with you all, my pontoon motor and power trim has been nothing short than a nightmare fixing up. In a very short period of time I have learned a whole lot about 1995 Mercury Tracker 60hp 2 strokes and the power trim motor too. As you know in my previous post the lower end of the motor is trash so a new one will be used, so since I am waiting I turned my sights on the trim motor, specifically the ram piston, it was leaking oil.

I got a replacement seal kit for it, watched some videos online, got the exploded view breakdown, and went to town on it. I would like to say that I successfully replaced the seals and the trim motor works like it supposed to. A small victory but a victory nonetheless!

That's all...I'm just happy something went like it supposed to.

Good news!

And I suspect that you will continue to learn new tricks.

congratulations on fixing your power trim... I am not mechanically inclined.. in fact my dad used to tell me that I could tear up a steel ball with a powder puff.... and believe me, as an adult I have "tried" to fix things around the house.. usually ends up costing me more because after I end up breaking whatever it is I was working on, I then have to call a professional to go back and undo what I did... :happy
