Motor UPgrade

#1 Post by Towdaddy » Wed Mar 04, 2020 6:52 pm

So after exploring my options, I sent the ECU off my 2009 225 Verado to Simons to have it reflashed. They have promised 348 hp on 91 octane at a6300-6500 rpm. I will work with my dealer to reprop in May when the boat goes back in the water. I am hoping to get at least 5-7 mph increase. I will let the group know how well this works out. I can tell you that it was a lot less than the 16K that my dealer wanted for new 300 VROD.

BTW, we looked at. Bennington with a 450R Mercury at the Grand Rapids boat show in Feb. It was a very nice boat but at 140K was a bit pricey.

You might want to look at installing a hydraulic jack plate to get the most out of your added HP.

 140K for a pontoon, amazing when a boat motor cost around 55K
