Controller Install Problems-Help!

I need some input...please!
Bought a new controller and cables for my 75hp 2003 Mercury OB. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/TFQAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg

The installation directions refer to several different configurations for different motor types - see chart (I hope you can read it)...

I don't know which motor type I have by these namings (traditional pull throttle, counter rotational, etc,) and can't find anywhere to figure that out. As a result, I have installed and uninstalled the controller 3 times. I can put it in Forward, and have throttle, but it doesn't seem to seat fully into Reverse, and there is no throttle in Reverse. Motor controls are on the port side of the engine.

What in the world am I doing wrong??? Apparently the old (Gen I) controller went to heaven when I took it out... can't find it to refer back to it.

PLEASE help a guy who is feeling like an idiot at this moment.
