04 merc 115hp 4-stroke?

#1 Post by ttopmustanggt88 » Mon Jul 10, 2006 3:16 pm

motor revs just fine when in neutral, but under load for the first 10 to 15 minutes of running it stutters like its being starved of fuel. i checked the primer bulb was tight and has no apparent leaks. do these motors have a water seperator that needs to be drained or replaced. maybe a fuel filter?? thanks for any help josh

The merc has a fuel/water separator right next to where the spark plugs are. There is a clearish white tube that has a red floaty in it that is supposed to rise up in the tube when water is in it.

How many hours do you have on it. I would also put some fuel injector in it just in case

Best of luck
