It has been a while since the Complete Pontoon Loader Kit by 4C-Innovations https://pontoonloader.com was discussed. Does anyone have experience using it? It is a little pricey but the video on their website looks like it could be a useful product, especially in the wind.

Thanks,

Mike

Why can’t you construct your own. It seems pretty straight forward.

Someone with DIY skills probably could and have. I just wanted to know if they work.

It looks nifty, but even though I can't see the log bunks I can still gauge my approach relative to the front vertical bunks. And as for the latch, it's pretty easy to just go to the front and snap on the hook. It's not that I think it's a useless thing, but seems a lot of $ for a little convenience.

Both of my Yacht Club trailers came with center guides already, and they do help a lot. Just leave the top third of your bunks out of the water when loading so you can hit them. That place is reaching a little bit with the price but they do have a nice setup with the angle to keep them level with the water line....but that will vary ramp to ramp I'd imagine. I've gotten blown over the top of mine before, maybe trailer too deep. Here's a kit less than $200 where you just supply your own boards.

Yacht Club trailer with guide example below. I know they sell the guide kits by themselves but you have to order from a dealer I think.

Steiner,

What was interesting about the loader was how it pushed the boat in correctly lined up (in the video). The guides are on top of the water and can be adjusted for different ramps if needed.

I need all the help I can get as a newbie.

Thanks

I have them installed on my trailer and they definitely help with loading my tri-toon in the wind and waves. Did not purchase the locking mechanism and think it is not necessary. One of the best purchases I've made for the boat.

I used to have issues loading on my trailer until I bought some trailer guides.. they're nothing more than pvc pipes that fit on a bracket bolted to the back end of the trailer.. one on each side, and they make lining up to load much easier.. nice thing is they slide right off the brackets so you can take them off when you're towing.

i agree that the price seems a little high and you should be able to make something similar for less. i added the pvc pipes to the outside and that has helped me a good amount...i think when the pontoon is back at my house I will look into something that sits in the middle to help loading.

Thank you all for the replies. I think I will look at both the inside setup as well as the PVC setup. Good visibility and an aid to getting on the bunks.
