2nd trip out this year

#1 Post by curtiscapk » Tue Jun 30, 2020 11:04 am

Man it's nice having THE FLOATER only 30 minutes away! We moved her to new outside storage for $30 a month. It's 10 minutes from the lake. We were on the water in under 90 minutes once gassed and coolers iced etc. We had a great time just me Paula the son and granddaughter. We realized Paula and I can launch and load the boat by ourselves pretty quickly (with no reverse). Had the toon in the water and truck parked in under 5 minutes. Thankfully they have 5 lanes and 4 courtesy docks. It got a little dicey when the winds picked up and turned the lake into 2-3' swells.

We ended up being fine cruised back around 10 MPH still had waves coming over bow!

All in all a good time! We were back home and in the pool by 4!

Going out on Friday as well.

Some pics on the water and storage. The new captains chair is great!

Granddaughters first time on the boat in 09 and some pics of her from Sunday!

Was it Sunday by chance? We were at Clinton in Lawrence Sunday and the wind was blowing something fierce. I got out across the lake fine and went back to the marina for a few things, but then the wind picked up and we tried going back out, but the waves were the worst I've ever seen up there. I wasn't even able to get to 10 before a wave crashed over the front of the bow leaving my wife (7 mos pregnant) and I to decide to turn around. I feel bad for folks who rented boats or Sunday was their only day to get out.

Glad you're back to some more regular boating, Craig. I know you were sad over the last season or so.

Yes for sure. We've got a dock at Clinton right now, the fishing has been great.
