Pimp your boat?

#1 Post by Dennis J. Aitken » Thu Jul 30, 2020 8:57 pm

OK What would you do to improve the quality, ride and/or looks of your boat?
I don't mean twin 400s and a 100 gallon tank that would be good for a day out on some big lake.
I am almost 70 and just looking for cool ideas while I am building this monster.
If you were building it from scratch what would be your special touches?

A canopy, a grill, a place for a large cooler, and....a five gallon bucket for the ladies. Those are the basic must haves.

Everything else is personal preference based on what you will use the boat for.
I am the guy at the boat ramp that gives you dirty looks when you are a complete idiot and too stupid to know it.

Since I bought a brand new boat, I had many of the extra features added prior to delivery.

Upgraded Stereo head unit (Rockford to have XM radio and built in pandora functionality)
Simrad chartplotter/fish finder/GPS
Power assist for hydraulic steering

SInce I've had it, I generally do an addition or two each off season. Partly because I want these features, and partly because I just like tinkering with the boat during the off season

Underseat LED lighting for ambiance
NMEA network to allow complete engine data to be shown on my Simrad chartplotter
Upgraded speakers, added subwoofer, added amplifier
custom cabinet for grill and added storage http://pontoonforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25762
power linear actuators to let me raise and lower bimini top to get under low bridges
EZfenders http://www.ezfender.com/
