Here is what I use with 5 gallon fuel containers. You have to make sure they have wide openings, but this works great for transferring fuel. I use it to fuel my pontoon boat, jet skis, and golf cart.

With some major modifications (extended reach at both ends & a different gas cap) that could work. I've been using the $10 stick-shaped version for a couple years and it's way better than trying to hold a full 5-gallon can while balanced on the edge of the dock.
