So I’ve been looking at this thing, think that’s a fair price?
Anything I should look for?

I have a 22 Regency with a 90 E Tec. I don't think you will be happy with a 60 hp motor. I bet it is rated for 115. If your happy with maybe 15 mph your good. I only get 22 with my 90.

I know it will be slow, but it will be QUITE awhile till my kids are old enough to water ski or anything. We just want something to fish on and bubble around the lake.
I currently have a 1970 toon with a 9.9. Idle speed is 2.5 and wide open is 6mph.
It’s hard to be worse than that. 😂

Do you guys think that’s a fair price?
Any key points I should look at?

ok then, You'll be "Flying" with the 60. The deck should be easy to check, Cracked motor pod welds? Get a mech to assess the motor?. Not much to check on a toon, pretty simple. Maybe check kelly or boat trader for comparison, prices are at a premium right now.. make an offer. Check new prices? It's worth what someone is willing to pay,, Furniture in good shape?

I think some of the other fella's on here have a valid point.. a 60 hp on a 22 footer isn't going to win any races... my boat's a 20 footer and has a 75 Yamaha on it.. when it was brand new it would get 23 to 25 mph, depending on the lake conditions wind, fuel on board, etc.. and truthfully, for us, that's fine with us. about 90 % of the time we use our toon for fishing, and it's wonderful for that. My personal opinion is 16 grand for a 7 year old boat with a 60 hp motor is a tad high... Not sure what the tax rate is there, but at 8% you're looking at an additional 1200 bucks or so. I would be more comfortable if the sticker on it was around 12K to maybe 12,500. but that's just me. I'm getting old and becoming a tightwad. Good luck boat shopping.

I agree with ROLAND completely. Ours is a 24' with a 75 Mercury. Not pushing rpms at all, we cruise along at about 16mph, which is all we really want. When I'm on the boat, all I want is lazy relaxing.

I also agree that $16K seems a bit steep. We just rebuilt ours from the frame up - everything new. I estimate (no verification) that mine is now probably worth about $16K.

Good luck!

Now is a great time to sell used but not the best time to buy used. I'm not in your area but out west none of the dealers have any stock... new or used. What they do have is over priced because folks want a boat and it's simply a sellers market. I traded in a bass boat at a Sun Tracker dealer and got above average retail. The fair trade in along with the tax break from the trade on the new purchase made it worthwhile. Only issue is the long (really long) wait for the new pontoon to get to me. Last time I called to check they are estimating 16-or more weeks from purchase order date for delivery. I guess that's not too bad unless you want to get out on the lakes and are impatient like me. One thing about the Sun Trackers is their fixed price across all dealers. Normally that can be a bit of a negative, but with the current market it seems to be keeping the dealers from jacking the prices up on the new models. From my recent buying experience the new 2021 sun trackers are also the exact same price as they sold for last year. You'd think that would help keep the prices on used models down, but it seems that's not the case. Good luck!

I did not see engine hours in the add, might have missed it. But you can bet that engine has spent almost its entire life at almost full rpms....In other words, rode hard, put away wet just to move at a slow speed. Just something to think about.

I have a friend with a 2015 22' party barge and 60 merc. Same boat as you are looking at and with a 4 blade prop ( not sure pitch) it'll run 16 / 17mph with a light load and half tank of fuel wot.

^^^Listen to this advice.

I was speaking to a dealer the other day and he told and confirmed the following:

1 - The Corona made people go wild and buy boats/RV's/Campers. This dealer's toon sales increased 300%. They usually have 20-30 toons in stock this time of year. When I went a couple of weeks ago, they had 2 and one was sold.

2 - The Corona shut down manufacturing and the parts supply chain is in bad shape. He said things would not get back to normal until at least January.

3 - Due to points 1 and 2, the used boat market is crazy.

Looks like the boat is from Minnesota? I assume your boating season is quickly coming to and end so personally, I would wait till Jan/Feb and see if things get back to normal.

The price is high on that boat and you will want a bigger engine at some point. Given that, if your wife and kids are looking at you with sad eyes then you don't have much of a choice but to buy it.

Bob's info agrees 100% with what I'm seeing/hearing in Virginia. My buddy sold his 2015 20' SeaRay in 4 hours. He bought a $100k brand new Cobalt and the dealer had 4 other people wanting to buy the same boat within hours after my buddy bought it. It's a crazy market. This dealer sells Scout, Cobalt,Sea Ray, Bayliner and Galleon Yachts. They have virtually zero inventory and don't expect to recover until after boat show season.

You guys are spot on. I called into inquire about that toon, someone just bought it yesterday.
The guy on the phone said the same thing, used inventory is currently impossible to hold on to. They usually try to keep at least 30 boats on hand at all times, they’ve got 4 new ones left on the lot. Factories can’t make them fast enough.

My takeaway from this is that 2022 would be a great time to buy as the market will be flooded. That is if they ever let us get away from this ‘Rona crap.

I'm currently taking bids on my boat.
If it gets to $100k I'll throw in the truck to tow it with.
If it gets to $101k I'll throw in the wife.
If it gets to $150k I'll take her back.
