34 ft storage area needed near Daytona 9/28-10/1

We're vacationing at the end of the month. I've got storage arranged while in Orlando but we will be staying in Daytona Beach the 28-1. I've found a place in Edgewater but that's a little distant but certainly reasonable in price and unfortunately it's unsecured. Nobody else will rent for less than a month so my choice seems to be Edgewater, which will send me over an hour round trip the wrong way the day we leave, or the marina at Daytona. They will let me trailer it there but for what seems to me an outrageous $20/day. Does anyone live near there that has extra space in their yard? Figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I think 20 a day is high too, I know you like to screw tourists over so they don't come back, I was trying to figure out why he needs 34 ft?

Probably the total length of the trailer including tongue, a few feet for the outboard hanging off the back, etc.

He's talking about 3 or 4 days of storage. 80 bucks max. Even if the price was half it's only a difference of $40. That's less then beer or snacks on the boat for a day!!

For something to just sit there uncovered, yes, I think $20/day is outrageous. For one day, no biggie but for 3 or 4, that's $60-80 For about 450 sq ft. I need 34ft (length of trailered boat and motor) but places charge for 12x40 for that length, which I understand. Monthly rates work out to much less but no one will prorate or even come close to pro rating. Probably seen $120-150 for a month, so yes, for 3-4 days, $20/day is outrageous.

The value of something is equal to what someone is willing to pay for it. If the cost of an additional $20/day for your vacation is outragious to you, then you will not pay it. Seems pretty simple to me. It is strictly a matter of perspective.

1 - Call some local boat dealers (preferably that sell your brand) and ask them if you could pay them a few bucks.

2 - Call some local wrecker companies and ask the same (they usually have fenced in yards)

3 - Also, google RV Campgrounds and RV Storage Daytona area. For example:

For me time on vacation is always to short. I'd pay the 20 just for the convenience of parking right at the water. I totally agree with Steve that it's not a big deal for a few days. It's the path of least resistance to get you on and off the water. An out of town boating trip I'd spend as much time on the water as I can. It may be a bit high but a week after you spend the 80 you'll forget about it.

Thanks BobL. Step 3 is where I started. I reckon I'll just start at the marina and at least be in the water quickly.

Please take plenty of pics! Sadly that time of year is closing in fast here in the north and I will have to live vicariously through the adventures of others lol.

If you cant find anything and are desperate, try Devels Elbow in Crescent Beach. Its north of Daytona about 40 miles strait up A1A. Its a long way but a beautiful drive with some great places to stop and eat along the way. They also have a launch. I think they charge 10/night, or that is what it used to be. Might be listed as st augustine but they are about 12 miles south of there.
