Lift cable protection
The freshwater slip we have our pontoon in is designed for a v-hull so the bare lift cables hit the bimini frame when lifting it. It's not bad, just maybe a little more than contact. Would pipe insulation stand up to the elements and abrasion or is there something more marine friendly?

Re: Lift cable protection
My lift cables have 1/2" PVC pipe then covered with pipe insulation. Works fine. The tricky part is you'd have to disconnect the end of the lift cables to thread them through the PVC pipe. I also guess you could use some split loom cable covers.

Re: Lift cable protection
Maybe get some cheap PEX piping (red for hot water would work well) and split it lengthwise. Then "wrap" the lift cables with it. It should stay in place on the bunk itself (gravity) as the lift cable moves through it. Just thinking out loud here...
Re: Lift cable protection
You could also get some thin gauge PVC pipe then split it with a Dremel tool. Spread it apart and pop it over the cable - it will stay on.

Re: Lift cable protection
I agree that 1/2 inch PVC pipe is the way to go on those cables. It's slick and non-abrasive.
