That's the special futuristic option for those who have a time machine! LOL. I fixed the typo.

We bought our boat brand new in 2019. We took delivery on Mother’s Day weekend. Here is my boat info

Year: 2019
MFG: South Bay
Model: SB2 (with 3.0 package)
Engine: Mercury 200HP (V6)

My boat is a 1994 Starcraft with a 1998 rebuilt Johnson 90 on the back. Bought it used from a very nice couple that never had it stored outside. I have owned it for eight years now and it is in great shape
It has been in water in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and now Georgia. Both fresh and salt water. I did replace the Bimini top with an electric one from Poontoonstuff and it works great. I hope I don't jinx myself , but this boat has never left us down.

Not quite ours yet, but expect to close a deal in 3 days for a 2003 Crestliner.
Has Bimini top, full travel cover, full enclosure cover, 70hp Suzuki 4stroke, EZ Loader trailer, pop up change room/porta potty.
Hoping to get it for 24K CDN. Not too fancy by todays standards, but it'll get us out there.

Our boat is a 2021 Qwest Tritoon; bought new in 2021.

Anyway, It’s a 24 foot tritoon with a 225 HP Honda F/S.
It has a powered Bimini (I’d recommend NEVER doing that!), second non-powered Bimini, hydraulic power steering, built in GPS/fishfinder/depth gauge, Exfinity powered stereo w/ six eight inch speakers w/ built-in LED lights, bar, Lanai seating on the rear deck, courtesy lights, docking lights, the “required lights”, cup holder lights, dual battery system, pop-up privacy partition, raw water wash-down, 45 gallon gas tank, and a ton of under-seat storage.

Why not on the powered bimini??

Well; mine was a pain in the ass, because the left side motor wouldn’t go “down” when brand new.
Several weeks later when they sent someone to install a new port side motor; you could see how the wire was damaged when the boat was built.

Then there’s the fact that there's a big warning sign next to the power Bimini switch advising that the top speed without damaging the power top is 25 MPH.

Then there’s the powered top frame; which is only a three-bow frame! It also has no straps, bars, or anything else that provides any support for the top. Everything is dependent on the plastic connection to the little elec. motors to hold/stabilize everything. With quick release bars (like I have on the front top that I had made); there’d be more structural integrity, and load protection for the elec. motors; negating the need for a 25 MPH speed limit when using the powered top.

My second top, in front of and zipped onto the front of the power top, provides structural support (Holds the powered top in it’s full “up” position), so that higher speeds are possible without damaging the powered top. That may not appeal to everyone as a good work-around; as the cost of the new top, including the matching fabric, framework, and installation, was $1,200.00.

I rarely use the powered feature; as the top stays up the whole time the boat’s in the water. So, when either of those motors dies; I’ll be making my own mountings and support bars to do away with the powered crap.

They may be OK for folks farting around on lakes and places where they encounter low bridges and such. I use our ‘toon out in the Gulf of Mexico; often taking daily cruises that exceed 70 miles. I’ve encountered storms, fog, gusty winds and rough waves; and expect to see more of the same, every year. Our boat stays in the water from April until November, every year. I need everything to work, be strong, able to take a beating, and not limit my speed when having to run away from bad storms.

Other than that; I guess they’re fine.

Thanks for posting this, I had planned on getting a power top, since that would make it easier for me to do. But we will be going back in our slip every time, so it will be going down at the end of the run, also would be easier. I would have never thought to ask the "how fast can the top go when up" question. One more thing in my memory bank.

2007 lowe 24' trinidad 240 purchased 2017, twin 25" tubes. Double bimini top, full enclosure ( hardly used). Pop up changing room which now has a porta potty. New 2021 merc 115 CT installed last year.
I've also installed...smartcraft tach., cleaned up wiring by adding a buss/ ground bar and two additional console rocker switches battery master and stereo, turbo swing tow bar, gas grill, two batteries with selector switch with automatic selective battery charging.
And a galvanized, twin axle trailer , bearings/races 4 years ago, ez lube axles, electric brakes installed last year, refurbished bunks this year.....
