Full camper cover keeps unsnapping

#1 Post by dguadagnola » Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:51 pm

Has anyone experienced this problem....I have a full camper cover on my 22ft pontoon and when out on the lake I remove the front and rear sections. When I go over 15mph the side panels unclip and fly in the wind, the snaps wont hold. I put a few extra snaps, a little better but eventually they unclip with a gust of wind. I talked to the canvas guy who redid my entire top because the old one was finished due to neglect from the previous owner...he says the one was DOT snaps may be a solution but my tear if not careful.
My old pontoon which I had for 21 years never had this problem and did not have these one way DOT snaps.....but the snaps were really harder to unfasten than what I have now, they unsnap quite easily. The canvas guy says there is only 1 size snap and I should not have this problem.

Any comments or solutions would be appreciated.

These twist snaps work great if you have room.
