How is boat availability in your area?

My lake neighbor is looking for a 22' tritoon with at least 150hp. She lives in Asheville, NC and our lake is Lake Keowee in SC. There is....practically nothing available around us unless you want to order new and wait but I told her what she's looking for with trailer is going to probably be around $45K OTD new but her budget is $35k. She sold her bowrider last year and bought a couple jet skis.....I told her to stick out the jet skis for another year and wait for all the "oh shit we shouldn't have bought this" people to start selling next year.....if it doesn't happen this year.

She's found a 25' Bentley with 200hp and 25 hours on it with no trailer for $37k. I told her that a trailer if she could find one was probably going to be new and run $3k. Plus she knows it's a big boat and not exactly what she wants so I told her if it were me I'd rather spend the money to get what I wanted than try to get a deal on something I didn't.

That dealer, IMG - Iguana Marie Group, in Osage Beach, is asking sticker-plus for those boats. They should be a solid 20K less than they are asking. Stupid pricing. When times get tough for them and they need business, I would NEVER go to that dealer due to their current gouging.

Found her a 2018 22' Crestliner tritoon with 150 Merc and 75 hours with trailer and all the trimmings for $32k. "Family circumstances dictate sale"...think we'll see a lot of that next year. It'll probably be gone by this afternoon if it's not already.

There are more boats on Lake Lanier than just about any inland lake in the world. It's the U.S. Government's most visited facility of any kind.

And Lake Lanier is only 90 miles from you. You should be able to find just about any brand boat you are looking for around Gainesville, Dawsonville or Oakwood, GA. There is a great Bentley dealer in Oakwood. A little farther is a great Tahoe dealer in Douglasville, GA--just west of Atlanta.

The dealer where I bought my boat seems to be getting his stock replenished. If she's interested in coming to Virginia, it might be worth a call. This is a great family owned dealership that is top notch! Southeastern Marine. https://tinyurl.com/2tnkgbel

Saw her this weekend when we went to open up the camper. Her stepdad went in with her and they bought a 2019 Bentley 25 footer with Merc 200 and 30 hours on it 200 miles from home down on AllaTOONa Lake. Only got used in 2019 and had just been sitting in the water, the guy's kids liked the pool better. They had to clean it up a good bit but it's nicely optioned....9" Simrad, Kicker audio, heavy duty tow bar.
