Buying a New ‘Toon; 2021 Qwest

#1 Post by Rick McC. » Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:38 pm

I signed a contract for a new 2021 Qwest 824 LS Lanai DS Bar on Monday, and we're waiting for them to mount the motor, and get a second top made.

I pulled up some pics online to get an idea the boat... Nice! I really like big, open floor plans like that. Congratulations!

That’s pretty close, though ours is a bit more colorful, and is a tri-toon.

It’s rated for 300 HP, but I’m getting a 200HP Honda 3.6L. Our old Hurricane was 300 HP rated, but ran great with the 200HP Yami we had on it.

Thanks for linking all the pics!

Update:

Well, we still haven’t picked the boat up yet.

The 200 HP Honda turned out to have too short a shaft; 20”, and that boat needs a motor with a 25” shaft. So we waited a few weeks, until the Honda Rep came through with another motor.

They found a 225 HP, which I’m getting for only $900.00 more.Their cost over the 200 HP motor is $1800.00, which the business owner said he’d split with me if I was interested. I jumped on that, and the motor was delivered yesterday.

We should be picking the new rig up next week.

That’s a badass ‘toon, Curt!

I have plenty of pics, but I can’t figure out how to post them on this forum.

Well, I found something; but it says that the files are too large.

The attachment BS on this forum is driving me crazy!

I have no idea why some of the pics are upside down...

Congratulations, that is a good looking rig... just one thing, when you go to pick it up, make sure they turn it over for you... will be a lot easier to tow once they do that. lol
