Am I paying to much for this toon?

I'm about ready to take the plunge on a 2006 Sweetwater 2186 FE with a yamaha 4 stroke T50. The dealers list was $27,988.00 which included trailer and all destination charges. With the 07's in sight, I was able to negotiate to $24,000. I was feeling good about it until I saw some post on this site with guys getting into a 21' with a 90 2 stroke for $19,000. Am I paying way to much for this toon? :(

Welcome aboard woody!

I think that with fall coming just around the corner, you may be able to get a better price real soon... I know alot of the new buyers I have read about have called several dealers further away to get the best price then let the local dealer try to match the price...

Good to see someone else from idaho on the board!

Mike,

Where did you buy your Voyager? I liked what I have read about them but their web site's dealer locator is not working.

I bought my boat used from a lady down in las vegas earlier this year...

I really like it, seems like a well built boat!

That sounds a bit steep for a 21' with only a 50hp motor. You should look at other dealers for a comparison.

Pulled the trigger

Well, I did pull the trigger. I contacted a dealer about 3 hours away and got my local dealer to come of the ivory tower a bit. It is just a fact though that toons cost more here than the midwest and south. Shipping adds $1K. The difference in the trailer (single axel galvanized vs double axel painted) was another $800. I am happy with the price and the boat so I have no regrets. My kids are both under 4 years old so sking won't be a issue for a while and I have plenty of friends with ski boats that would love to use my toon. I'm going to enjoy the boat and not look back! Thanks for the input.

Have fun with your new boat, if you don't enjoy it and use it, it doesn't matter what you paid, so get out there and get your money's worth.
