Finally!!!!!!!

#1 Post by curtiscapk » Mon Jul 19, 2021 12:32 pm

Besides 2017 the year of the GREAT FLOOD this is the latest THE FLOATER has gotten wet. But she did get wet! Friday afternoon We took the new camper to it's spot set it all up then went and grabbed THE FLOATER. Storage is 10 minutes away so within 3 hours of leaving the house camp was set up boat was there and new prop put on.
Saturday we were in line to launch next and got freaked out by storm clouds. We ended up parking lot partying with 4-5 other boats of people. Then the rain came and it came fast! Thankfully we didn't launch. Drove the 5 minutes back to camp, waited 10 minutes in the truck due too how hard it was raining, just ran to the camper, and took a nap and woke up to much nicer weather. Son DIL and g-daughter all went out for a 3 hour ride. Flawless from start to finish for first run of the year. Son makes much more money than we do his rig is next to ours!

Here are some pics.

Thanks guys! Setup works great at that close lake but if we go anywhere else and want both we'll have to borrow daughters truck! Wife's car won't pull either one! :nono :nono

Glad you finally got the floater wet Craig. Still haven't gotten mine in the water due to a variety of reasons. My son sold his benny about 3 weeks ago. He's been talking about it for several years but finally pulled the trigger. I've entertained the idea of selling mine, but I'm holding off for now.. I want to be 100% sure that's what I want to do before I do it, because once it's gone, I won't buy another boat.. So I'll keep it at least another year and then see how we feel. Anyway, looks like you all had a great time at the lake.. thanks for sharing the pics.

I hate to admit I'm in the same boat (pun intended!). Still no pier and dock, and I hate the thought of drop in / take out for one day at a time. Local boat ramps are always crowded and foolish people. Also - it rains (monsoons) almost every damn day. Not gonna leave her sitting in the water just getting rained on and sun dried. So she sits on the trailer next to the house.

I are sad.

There have been many times when I went to my boat to do some quick cleaning or upgrade, and I end up just sitting in the slip doing nothing for a few hours. I keep booze, mixers and cigars on board all the time, so it's just too easy to sit there and let the world pass by and do nothing!!! LOL

LOL, guilty of doing the same if the weather radar looks sketchy. :lol3 We generally get out every few days, even if it is only a short 20-40 minute attitude adjustment ride.

It takes about 90 seconds to lower the boat and get underway so no planning required beyond my wife asking: "Is this going to be a two-beer run or am I bringing margaritas on the rocks?" It's like backing my truck out of the garage, except that it is legal to have a cold one in my hand.

Must admit, Last cold one on the boat was a couple weeks ago in the driveway messing with trim :happy

Oh, by the way

I second the you suck comment :fyou

Good news is tomorrow we are meeting with contractor, so this time next year I will be able to watch the boat from the road :happy :happy

I actually do think it's great that y'all are able to get out, or able to just sit and hang in the slip. If it weren't 1,000º I might just uncover and sit on the trailer in the driveway. At least if the afternoon downpour comes I've only got yards to go to stay dry!

Booze and cigars at the ready.... NOW I'm cryin'! :bowdown

I'm being whiny and jealous. Have fun and post some pics for me to drool over! :drool :drool
