Boat Lift Support Question

#1 Post by asop » Sun Aug 23, 2009 5:30 pm

Being new at the pontoon boat game we had a lift installed with 12' support 2X10's. Our boat is 24' long and I just assumed the 2X's would be at least 20' long!? Installer said 12' was correct. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I'd want all logs supported to their full length, especially the stern. It seems to me with half the boat not supported, something is gonna sag.

My boat is 22ft and my supports are 16ft long 2ea 2X12X16's each side. That leave 6ft of unsupported toon and is all I would want.
