Not sure why you are worried about brand name of the tires.

Goodyear is famous for making poor quality tires. This is known all around the industry.

Most important thing is to make sure tires are properly inflated and maintained.

Another thing to consider is storage. You would store the trailer with the weight off of the tires and keep the tires out of direct sunlight. This way, UV light does not cause the tires to dry rot. Keeping the weight off of the tires while in storage will stop tires from being deformed and getting a memory or hard spots. These spots will cause balance problems and also cause cracking at the flex area.

Any well made tire will do fine for your pontoon. Remember that trailers only roll, not like your car where the tires are used for traction and steering.

If you will really sleep better at night, go and buy the goodyears for a hundred bucks each and when they are low on air, they will come apart just like all of the other brands.

All manufacturers make tires for off brand companies. The extra cost for the brand name is used for marketing and executive pay.
