New purchase

#1 Post by bigwalleye » Sat Oct 31, 2009 9:39 am

Hi everyone new to the forum and need your help. I have been boating for 20 years but recently purchased the following. 23 ft Prince craft with a 2009 115 EFI Mercury. What do you guys and girls think that i can get at top speed? Never even hit the water with this unit as it is bloody cold in Manitoba now and unit has been winterized. Look forward to your replies.

Nice boat. Not sure on the top speed on a two log but with the 115hp you could probably justify the cost of a ss prop. My guess would be high 20's or very low 30's, depends on the weight and how well it planes

I think it should be in the high mid 20's. I don't think a 115 is going to go into the 30's too much boat.

Looks like a nice rig and I know that when the weather warms up you will enjoy it.. Nothing like a toon to relax and have fun with in the summer.

I agree with above posts. Without lifting strakes you'r not going to get out of the 20's. Great looking boat, by the way. I know it will be a long winter for you waiting for warm weather...

I agree with most comments above. Look at my signature, my 22 ft w/90 Yammy will do 25 MPH GPS with light load. I would guess your good for about the same give or take 2 mph. Nice looking boat, you will have a blast when the water is liquid again. :ten

Nice boat and welcome. I have a triple tube with a 90 HP and can hit 26. you will most likely get 28 -29 down hill you could hit 30! :happy A lot depends on the prop, and how much weight your carrying. I can gaurentee you will be going too fast to keep your plates out on the tables while underway.
