#1 Post by skyhi » Sun Jan 10, 2010 9:50 am

Hi,

Looking to but a 2005 or later Party hut 30 ob with 115 or 150hp.

What should I lookout for! Would I want to look for one with, A/C

Heat . Shore power , Wired for generator. What speed would I see

with a 150hp. I like to fish, how would a trolling motor do on a 30 ft.

Party Hut. This will be my 1st pontoon and any help or info would

help me alot

Thanks

I have a 2006 Party Cruiser, it's built almost identical to the Party Hut. I have a 135 hp I/O, top speed is aroud 18-19 mph. Don't expect much more from an 150 hp outboard, maybe 1-2 mph more tops. 3-4 mph less with the 115. They are built well, just have a mechanic look it over before you buy if you are not mechanically inclined. I don't fish that much on mine so I was never interested in a trolling motor for it. I use a Honda EU2000i generator and it powers the A/C, microwave, electric stove, etc. as long as you aren't using the A/C with anything else at the same time. You'll love the boat.

Check the deck construction. Some of the new models I looked at on the showroom at Bass Pro had plywood decks. I would look for the aluminum duradeck construction for rot protection. I just bought a 2006 32 Party Cruiser, it is a bit to handle by yourself. I've launched and recovered solo a few times, but having a deck hand or two especially in heavy wind would be a plus.
