Interior lighting
I've been looking around and I can't find much discussion about interior lighting for boats. Even harder to find are pictures of other peoples setup.
What I'm planning on using is some type of LED accent lights for boating at night. I want something just bright enough to illuminate the interior without being so bright that it interferes with navigating. If any of you guys have some pics of how your interior lighting is setup could you please post them? Any advice on where to find good LED lights would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: Interior lighting
If you want them for night use red, go to home depot and get one of the ones that go on you head at least for back up and that way you have light at all times.
The one I got now has white and red lights so you pick the one that works, the reds are bright enought so you can see but dont kill night vision, which can take a 1/2 hour to come back after being exposed to white light.
The head unit tilts down so light hits where you want it

Oh I use it for work all the time and it's better than the lit cap and cheaper too, and when I start flying again there will be one back in my flight bag for night flights.
It fits under you cap so you don't have to give go without it.

Re: Interior lighting
Thanks, but I'm looking for something like small LED modules that can be placed in various locations of the boat and wired into my console panel to run on 12V supply. One more thing that boggles me a little is what color to go with. LED's can be had in: white, blue, pink, purple, green, red, orange, amber......etc. I'm thinking of going with blue so that it can't be confused for either red or green navigation lighting.

I kind of like the Blue LED lights under the bimini. Someone (SteveStormey maybe?) had his set up that way and they looked very cool.

Yes...that was Steve and they were pretty cool. He did a good job. I think he tried strapping them around his head but putting them on the toon worked better.JohnO wrote:JMBroussard83 wrote:Thanks, but I'm looking for something like small LED modules that can be placed in various locations of the boat and wired into my console panel to run on 12V supply. Just verified it on Snopes. Liberals are complete mouth breathing idiots.

Re: Interior lighting
how about those LED push lights that you can stick anywhere, they work for a long time off AA batteries...

Re: Interior lighting
I checked out what superbrightleds.com had to offer. It gave me a good idea of what I'm looking for. I found some very simlar lights on ebay for much much cheaper. The lights I'm going to use come in a small "pod" with 4 led's to a pos. I ordered 10 of the pods. I plan to install about 4 in the bimini and the other 6 in various locations around the boat for some good accent lighting. I plan to party on this party barge!
