Why don't you make the banner background be a continuous image of a pontoon bench seat, and you can make it look like things are sitting on the bench that have whatever writing you want to express. I really like the wooden plank looking board you have with the "Welcome to PontoonForums.com" on it. You could do something like that and say, "Have a seat and meet great people/enjoy yourself", or something like that. The tribute to 6X6 could look like a framed 'in memoriam' poster or something, sitting proudly in the corner of the bench.

Another option would be to make the background a continuous image of the side of a pontoon boat. You could see the railing on top and the pontoons on bottom, and express your welcome/tribute like the lettering on the side of a boat.

Just a thought. I'm no photoshop wiz, but I've got it and I can do some things if you want any help.

A slogan/motto doesn't hurt either.

"We're here only because we can't be on the water"
"A social network of friends and pontoon owners spanning the country"
"Because Pontoons are all we think about"
...

I'm not the best at it, but you get the idea.
