Don't forget to look at the limits on the plate. 225 sounds a little high to me. My 23 foot Starcraft is limited to 125hp. Right now I'm running a 50 horse, and she goes just fine.

Oh, and welcome to the board.

my 2000 tracker 24' fishing barge says max 115 hp. the boat would handle the weight. i think it is the structural capabilities of the mount.

For 2008 the 24 foot party barge's max hp is 115, I can't imagine an 01 could handle that much motor. Hell even the biggest pontoon tracker makes 32 footer max horse power is only 150. Better be safe than sorry, plus there's the insurance issues also.
