trolling motor mount

#1 Post by jeepers06 » Tue Apr 08, 2008 4:35 am

anyone have a new idea about mounting a front trolling motor, non-remote, that you can clear the water when running and will go down far enough to be under the water when in use. A foot control is in the way to much and I use the pontoon tiller model.

My trolling motor mount was mounted at the front gate offset to one side, the motor didnt come with the toon so I took the mount off but I can only assume it folded up and out of the way when not in use?

My first one was one I got cheap and 35 lb one and I just modiflied the mount from clamp on to I bolted it to the front frame and pulled it up out of the water when not needed.

35lb won't work in the wind by the way

I have the 8" tall corner fence at the front so I cut 2 pcs of aluminum tread plate and riveted them to the fence with some 1x1 aluminum square tubing between them and put my trolling motor on that.
