I didn't get to finish before I wasn't able to post or delete.

Why does my post keep getting edited?

Looks like it was only edited once, but I did remove the F word out in Genral as we do have to keep that cleaner so we don't give people the wrong ideal the first time they come to check us out.

I know when we think of how we were treated in PDB by brady that brings up all kind of words up you shouldn't post here, we can do that in off topic so the spys who are running us down can't see them.

looneytoons wrote:Bill, what exactly does "in a dry cove" mean. We went to Fontana Lake in NC and it was down about 40 feet. They had to keep building new roads and moving docks, etc. That sucks!! Did you get to use your boat at all this year? I think I would move!! That would just be too much to take. I think I understand there are some lakes where they haven't used their boat for 3 years.
Hey Toon..
If the lake were full we would have 8' of water behind the dock and house....since the lake is down 19' now we have a nice meadow to look at :(

Our cove has been dry about a year..All docks on Lake Lanier float so we just moved our dock with the water as it receded...have about 12' of water at the dock now....I just get in the golf cart and ride the shoreline to my dock...GREAT VIEW now, and I can use the boat whenever I want to....I have a couple of 'hitch hikers' that failed to move their dock so we have company now :)

Bill hope Lanier makes a come back next spring, sure pulling for it. Being able to move the docks helps a little, but still not like having it at your back door. Good Luck we are thinking about you.

Thanks Doc,

Oconee is always within 1 foot of full...that is nice...

BTW, I remember you saying to someone that you would be out of the market for the year awhile back...Did you make it in time??

Guess you are talking stock market. Been short the nasdaq most of the year in my trading account, doubled my money there, but Hartford has the 401k and can't really trade in an out of that, so I know I took a big hit there.
Not sure how much since I haven't even had the courage to open the statements. On the bright side, I did keep about 100k in a money market so that is safe. Won't be going long on anything until after the end of the year when all the tax loss selling is done. Even Hartford looks like they are in trouble. Got to call the financial planner some time this week and see if the remaining money is safe given Hartfords stock price, its down 15% today. 52 week range on it is 8.23 to 98.70, trading today around 10. Citi banks announcement cutting 50k jobs sure isn't going to help.
