Excursion is a very good pontoon I have the x 23 rfc also and for all you get you cannot beat the price. Or I could not anyway. A lot of bang for the buck.

I will definitely give them one thing, they are sharp. I was looking at them a few months ago at one of the local marinas. Just a tad out of my price range when I was looking at new ones.

Here's my New 2014 x23rfc. They extended the swim platform almost another foot on the back, I don't know where they got the room from though cause the rest of the boat is almost identical to my old 2012 RFC.

Traded in my Nautic Star 2110 and picked mine up end of June. Has been great so far, very smooth ride and build quality seems excellent for the price. Mine is the X-25C. Tons of space and storage and everyone loves how comfortable the seats are.

I think my motor might be mounted a bit low. Seeing 33 mph / ~5300 RPM WOT with a 15p Enertia on a Yamaha F150. I can trim the motor almost all the way out on the trim gauge and still not blow the prop out. I have two more holes up I can go, so I am thinking of going to the top hole and trying that when I go in to the 20hr service.

Great pontoons, as I looked at Cypress Cay, Premier, and Berkshire. Xcursion was the best bang for the buck by far. I like the more modern styling and I got the faux rosewood teak marine laminate flooring. LOVE it!

Can anyone else comment on how high your motor is mounted on your Xcursion? Also, on plane my ventilation plate is buried by water and not visible.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19183 this might give you some insight...

I have been chasing the set up aggressively..... still not done but with the total setup but I'm going to leave the motor at the 4th hole for now...I'm happy with tat part of it... Now we may mess witht he prop from here on out...

Thank you, I have been reading that thread and I agree, I think I will take my motor up to the top hole.

I noticed you are running a 13p prop, which is good for a heavier load as you mentioned. But since it is only a 13p, at 6000 RPM and 10% slip, the max you will see is 33.2 mph. If you want to get closer to manufacture claims, you will need to increase pitch, but that will again lower your RPM. Changing to a smaller diameter prop will (should) speed you up some if you decide to stay with a 13p.

Thanks again!
