Robert: Sorry you had such a bad experience with such a cleaner. So many of them are muriatic acid based, and they all work the same way.

There was a posting here the other week about someone that used cleaners on their boat which turned the boat into milk white. They then went to polishing the boat with aluminum polish and electric buffers. Then, they cleaned the hull with lacquer cleaner numerous times before going to the Sharkhide protectant. It will not work on anodized aluminum, however.

We're fortunate to be on a lake with all boats slung out of the water in boathouses. When I get my new tritoon boat next year, I am going to immediately Sharkhide the toons, and keep the boat high enough out of the water as to not have any moss/mildew/lake grunge on the bottom.

It's a shame that all nice new boats cannot be kept in marinas completely out of the water--to avoid fouled bottoms.
