Classic Accessories cover

#1 Post by lounge lizard » Tue Oct 09, 2012 6:20 pm

I bought a classic accessories mooring cover. After about 2 years it jsut ripped in the front section. I took a picture and it was replaced. Originally purchased through Northern Tool, but the factory warranteed it.
Now the question is, why did it rot in such a short time? The gal at Classic thought faulty material?

Did it come apart at the seams or did it have a rip in the fabric itself. Think a lot of the cheaper covers use cotton thread. Northern does stand behind what they sell pretty well. Picked up a buffer there an was able to extend the warrant 4 years for around 5 bucks. Normally I don't opt for extended warranties but hard to turn down a total replacement warranty for a buck a year.

It was the material itself just on the front 1/3. I might cut up the rest and make some tire covers or something :lol3

My guess is, it's your location.

95% of the US does not get NEAR the UV exposure that you do in Woodland Park.
