Does any one have recent experience with the Sweetwater grand of pontoons. Looking at a two log 20' boat 2014 cruise model.

I'd like to understand recent experience with quality, warranty and the good and bad.

Thanks in advance. Brian - NC

The boat on the left is a 2015 2086 with Yamaha 90 and the boat on the right is a 2013 2286 Tritoon with 150 Yamaha both Sweetwater's. Neither have been back to the dealer. Only issue with my boat (2286) is it eats up horn switches, I know its random but it seems every 2-3 months the little push button switch quits working. The boat has 102 hours on it now. The boat on the right belongs to my parents and has very few hours on it. It's got 27" tubes with strakes and the 90 was the max horsepower, it runs great. I'll buy another in a heartbeat. Only major difference is the piping on the outside of the 2015 model, its not much but it does provide a small amount of protection. With the 2013 & 2014 models when you bump something you will get a dent.

Thanks Cotts 4X4, you have a beautiful set up there! I appreciate you feedback.

One question, you mentioned piping on the 2015 and the situation with dents. Can you show or explain what that is? Also is there anything that can be added as good looking "after market" or at the dealer for the dents.

The 20" I am looking at is 2014 left over so I have practically no ability to customize factory installed options.

Thanks again - Brian

So there's my twin!

Sweetwater is a nice boat IMO. I do like the additional protection on the 2015s, looks more up-scale too.

On the '15 you can see the aluminum railings outside of the blue, on the older boats there is no railings at all so the colored "siding" goes right to the edge. The siding is really thin and dents really easy and has no support behind it. The '15 boat looks a lot classier from the side because of these railings too. I'd price out a '15 and see if prices are close, never hurts to ask. They don't offer anything from the factory for protection, but I added the EzFenders from Bryden24ship on this site, they give you something to tie your fenders to. We also installed them on the 2015 boat for more protection... 3 per side on each side of both boats.

I have just joined the group so no pics yet but I have a relative that has an older 20' sweetwater and had no issues with it.
So much that tomorrow I am going to buy my own. It is a 2013 but brand new. The dealer had a few older stock they were moving.
It has a 90hp and is the cruiser 2086C.
I do recommend them. Stable boats and no issues as far as I'm concerned.
