We love our tracker. We looked for a couple of months at different boats but never found exactly what the wife and I both agreed on. She likes the seating and I like the layout. I also like the aluminum decking, no need to replace it. I wanted a go fast pontoon but the wife was leary of the used ones we could afford so we decided to buy new and keep it for awhile so we would know the history on it. Or at least thats how we justified a new one...LOL
The dealer had ours on his lot at the end of the season and gave us a good deal on it. The motor had to be a new model because didnt have any older ones so thats why the motor is a year newer. The only real probalem I have had with mine is the console started to crack about 3 months after buying it. Tracker marine replaced it with no problems.
I have since developed a cracked a toon but I am now out of warranty. I think I cracked it and it was not a mfg problem though. I had way too many people on board in too rough of water. The crack is on top and doesn't seem to be growing yet. I will have it welded eventually when I find a welder I can trust here in Michigan.
All in all I love the boat and have been very pleased with it. The 75 merc is a great motor and has had no mechanical problems. I forgot to treat it right last year and paid for it a bit this year but its now running back normal with no problems. Starts with no real problem everytime.
The Trail Star trailer on the other hand is a piece of junk. The brakes locked up 2 or 3 times on me and all the mfg would cover is tightening the loose parts. I think that was part dealer problem though. So I stripped the brakes off the hubs one day at dockside. I have a set of electric ones I want to put on but never have seen the need for them yet. The trailer is starting to rust and seems to be built out of some pretty thin steel. Next spring I will have to maybe get it refinished or painted. When you bend a loading guard and you can bend it back in place by shoving it with your foot, thats pretty cheap. If I had a choice I would go with another trailer.
