Spotted Sea Trout

#1 Post by Ron Burgundy » Sat Mar 24, 2012 5:44 pm

It's not a gator trout but it was a keeper. Spent about an hour drifting in my pontoon boat just west of the Gulf Harbors channels. We caught a ton of little sand perch and a few pin fish. Tried casting with the DOA shrimp lure, but didn't have any luck with it. Ended up catching the trout on the pinfish we cut up.

We caught about a dozen of these little sand perch. They make good bait or if you have enough a decent meal.

I'm loving these long days!

RB haven't you been out to one of those artificial reefs yet?

Catch a mess of bait fish at your dock put them in your live wll and get out there.

You do need a gps and bottom machine.
