I've been considering upgrading to a 200 hp motor from my Mercury 115 on my 24 footer. How much gas do you normally go through in a day on the water with the 200?

Also could you post pics of your transom? My boat has a pretty beefy transom but I'm thinking Ill have to get it reinforced more before going bigger.

What is your top speed?

Holy WOW ! My husband and I have discussed getting a waterglide for our 88 Bass Buggy but have not found any way to figure out cost of one of these besides submitting a form into waterglide itself. I see that you got yours used! Can you maybe ballpark me a figure? If it really does boost speed and gas efficiency like it advertises that it does - maybe getting one for our boat would convince my husband that we could do a rebuild on ours as well. :prayer

Yes i got mine used for i think $300 or a little less its been awhile and wow yes a big difference i can get on top at 1/4 throttle, and the fuel went down a lot also , and i did check the speed 1/4 was going 20 MPH , and WOT got 36 MPH thats with 4 adults and 25 gallons fuel and tops up so i rather just cruise at 1/4 and enjoy the ride

Looks awesom! I was wondering if it was less expensive to rebuild vs buying a new boat? A new 22' Bentley with no motor is a little less than $13k.

What is that thing you put underneath the boat, in the middle?

nice build, that's the joy of the Water glide or straked center tube, your old WOT sucking gas speed becomes your new fuel sipping cruising speed. Twin tube configuration mine used 6.5 gallons an hour at 22mph WOT with my old 70hp, triple tube with the 140 now uses 4gph at 22mph while turning a nice 1/3 throttle 3800rpm.
