thinking about a third partial toon, no new transom
2005 Bennington 2575, honda 135 4 stroke. I have an opportunity to get a third log, 25", which is the same diameter as my logs. Has anybody added a toon to a boat this size with similar HP? I've found posts about shorter boats with a third toon added. I can currently run about 25mph with me and the wife on board. I wonder if I'd get a few more MPH to make a little better ride for my grandsons on the towables. I will not be upgrading the motor either, and it would be more of a 3/4 tube installation short of the motor pod.

I think your boat is the perfect candidate for that, It's plenty big with enough power to justify doing it. You'll get a much better ride and probably hit low 30's MPH if it's all done properly.

There needs to be lifting strakes on that 3rd toon, are there?

I would suggest you look at a new Bennington with the Express Tube in place. The rear of the center tube is very close to the front of the engine pod. Copy what Bennington has done--using a center toon the exact size the factory would use.
I would think with lifting strakes on the center toon, you'd be good for 35 mph. If your boat has never been underskinned, do it at this time. A new prop may be warranted to get 100% out of your boat.

I have a 24' boat with 115hp, I added a shorter center tube with lifting strakes.
I didn't gain much in MPH, but the ride is much better!
The 3rd tube will add drag, slowing you down, but that is offset by the fact that you will be riding higher in the water.
It will be night and day, how you handle waves after you add the 3rd tube.
I recommend it.

I picked up 2-3 mph when I added my 3/4 toon with lifting strakes.

What speed are you getting with the Honda 135 and what prop are you running? I have the same engine on a 2005 Crest 25’ and have always wondered how it compares to similar boats
