New guy, lake Norman NC

#1 Post by RichardAlan » Mon Jun 04, 2018 6:16 am

Hey folks, just checking in.

Just replaced my old boat with a regency 254, 300hp mercury.

Hoping to get some feedback from members here.

It came with an emertia 15.6x13, 3 blade. GPS 41 mph at WOT, 6400 rpm. It’s on the limiter.

What prop would you guys recommend? I feel like this thing is leaving allot on the table.

Thanks,

Rich

I'd at least go to a 15P that would drop 500 rpm's.

Yep. That’s what I was thinking. Have a 15x15 enertia on the way.

Did that prop work out? How do you like the 254 now? We are looking at a 220 w/250 now, would like to know how you feel about it now?

You are getting 150 hp mph. A 300 Verado will push a mich bigger prop than a 15 pitch.
It is up to your selling dealer to get the performance to 100%.
Start with a 17 pitch Enertia and go from there.

If you can run a 17 Enertia, I would definitely try an Enertia ECO if you can. The minimum pitch for the ECO is 17". It usually provides better bow lift and better mid range fuel economy than the Enertia.
