Custom Motorized Boat Lift Canopy - Pictures of my setup
I wanted to make a canopy for my Hydrohoist boat lift. The problem is though, when you lower the lift, the canopy also sinks as it is all attached to the same frame. So, I devised a motorized system to raise my canopy at all four corners using electric actuator motors. At a push of a button, the canopy raises up 30" to allow my boat to clear the canopy when the lift is lowered. When I put the boat on the lift, I can then lower the canopy so it covers the boat interior pretty much entirely.
One concern that I do have though is that the back sections of my seat vinyl (Directly above the 6" tall black border on my boat fencing) have potential sun exposure . However, the canopy overhangs my boat by about a foot on either side.
Do you think the sun exposure is a concern for this area judging by my pictures? I am leaning towards not worrying about it, but I also do not want the sun to destroy my seats though.
What do you guys think about my setup?
