Voyager rebuild
First post here. I have done a lot of reading and have found the documentation here to be very helpful. To all that have shared your experiences and lessons, thank you.
I am rebuilding my Voyager 21VS and need to replace the plastic recesses where my docking and navigation lights are mounted. I have looked for them at several suppliers for pontoon items and cant find them. Before I have them custom fab'd I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where else I might look to find these?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Voyager rebuild
Welcome, I guess biggest questions are:
1 ) how deep are pockets for custom
2 ) how good do you want it to look
3 ) how handy are you
I would say...----it, replace cutout with sheetmetal and mount 2 more lights to it
Now, maybe look at some new boats and buy factory replacement parts and retro fit????? Most all have thos corner mounts

Re: Voyager rebuild
I agree with Bansil. Remove the plastic recess and just bend a piece of metal over it. Then add a surface mount nav light and an LED docking light.

Re: Voyager rebuild
Flush mount is the backup plan.
Wondering if they could be 3D Printed...

Welcome to the group!
Have to agree with the others. Are you replacing the fence aluminum as part of your rebuild? If so, just panel it in flat and surface mount or deck mount the lighting.

Re: Voyager rebuild
They would have to be abs printed to hold up to weather and uv (non exotic printing stuff excluded) and even then I dont know how they would handle the flex
Maybe use acetone vapor to smooth them and remove exterior flaws...

Re: Voyager rebuild
@ bansil - the 3D shop I contacted can run it in ABS or PC (I assume poly carb) The price they quoted for the printing itself seems relatively reasonable but the 3D modeling set up fee makes it a pretty expensive option. ($250 setup, $60 - $150 ea to print)

Ouch! $250 for set up. I guess that's some of that "paying-for-that-guy's-knowledge" shit. Good luck with that.

Found a problem when we opened her up. Time for a new steering cable.

Ouch! I went through the same problem - mine blew out! Fortunately you are down to the frame. It will be much easier to replace.

Re: Voyager rebuild
Does anyone have tan furniture that has also put down vinyl flooring? Care to share which color / style flooring you chose and pics if you have them?
Im planning on gray woven pattern. Felt like tan would be too much tan. But pics from someone who has gone before me would be nice to see.
TIA

Two weeks ago. Still in rebuild mode. Ivory with Beige and Tan. Tan vinyl.
We offset the "tan" colors with blue fencing and blue biminis.
