What did yall use for the Joint Compound? Lowes does not have Exterior Grade joint compound, nor did they have any wood putty that I could find.
Sorry, man. I just saw this post. If still needed, I will post the products we used as soon as I can get back to the house to check.

Well... not much in the way of updates lately. Mostly been doing the little stuff - electrical, cleaning of re-used items, waiting for deliveries...
We are practically done! A couple of tiny things and looking to get Loretta Jane wet again on Saturday! :nana :nana

I will post some pics today, and especially when we do get her back in the water! I'm like a 10 yr old kid on Christmas morning right now. :alright :alright

So... a couple of things that have been being done:

Ran all new wiring through the boat. It was a mess. The biggest thing was any T that branched of the main wire loom was goobered-up tape. I hated the size of actual plastic Ts, so I took 1/2" PVC T connectors, cut a channel in them for wire insertion, and cleanly taped them. Much nicer.

Also - my wife was nice enough to make me a cover for the motor. Turned out well and my neighbor instantly starting begging for one. Really happy with that, too.

Added an additional USB/ Lighter adapter in the base of one of the back seats. All new nav lights and stern light, BRIGHT docking lights - I am looking for the horns out of an old Cadillac. I ain't paying a bunch for them, but I just think that would be funny as hell! :rofl

OH! AND started the motor for the first time since tear-down. Pumped up and fired right off! :nana

Well... we were hoping to get wet today, but it will be tomorrow. Still excited as hell. :nana
A bunch of wrap-up pics prior to some on the water after launch.

My motor won't accept a trim gauge (OEM), and I have always had to get up and look over the back to truly understand what was going on with the motor - pee stream check, actual trim level, etc. I've been considering a back up camera for a while. Luckily a buddy had an old one and gave it to me. Have it rigged to see how affective it will be. I think it's gonna work fine.

An 8-week labor of love coming to fruition. Damn hopeful tomorrow goes well. :prayer :drink

Very nice job! It's always great to see some of these older boats get a major makeover/restoration. Hat's off to your wife too for her sewing skill. My only recommendation might be to move your docking lights and nav lights back closer to the fence. They look like they could be potential toe stubbers where they are now!

Enjoy your first day on the water with your "new" boat!

I thought about moving the lights back some - but - we use the side gate for the ladder and all boarding and such. Plus - I'm gonna build a little anchor box to go on the front, right in front of the fence.

Thanks for the words and wishes! We are on the way out the door! :thumbsup :thumbsup :nana :nana :nana :nana

Thanks, Craig. We took her out on Mother's Day - fitting day to launch a boat named after my mother! Had a great day. Everything went extremely well. I was just glad it didn't sink!

A couple of small tweaks here and there and I will be happy. Mostly to do with how the cover fits having added bimini struts to support them when in the (covered) lift. That's keeps the frames from resting on the sun deck cushions and permanently creasing them.

Overall, life is great and we are happy boaters once again. THANK YOU to all you guys who threw some advice and good words of support my way. :bowdown
