Flags?

#1 Post by Jake202 » Thu May 21, 2020 10:11 pm

Finally got my new Bennington out on the water. I have always had an American flag on my boat. What type of clips or flag poles has everyone used? If you have pics or link please share. I’d like to stay away from drilling anything on a brand new boat if possible.

I bought this one on Amazon. It does require two holes for mounting, but I just used a couple of stainless self tapping screws and mounted it on the top of my rails. It's about the same width as the rail so it's very unobtrusive. The flag quality is so so and lasted about a year, but the mount and pole has been rock solid, now into it's third season.

It's hard to see, but these just clip on. I do have to use some electrical tape to stop them from riding up and down when underway, but other than that they work great.

Coldbrew-
Do you have a link to that setup? What are you clipping on to?

Also, my bottom clip ride up the pole as well. I just put a little screw in the mast to keep it from happening. It works and still lets the clip rotate for the wind direction

Like steve1313, mine mounts on the rail with 2 stainless screws. No issue. Mine is by Taylor Made. It has lasted 2+ years with no issue so far. I really like it.

Except the one in the picture is mounted on the wrong side of the boat!
