EzFender survey for line length.

#1 Post by Bryden24shp » Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:08 am

Hey guys! Liquid Asset (Shaun) is correct, I'm adding custom made fender lines to my EzFender line-up. I just can't nail the length down. I always make my own lines 4' long. They worked perfect on both Manitou's and the Premier. It depends on the bumper your using, if its a pass through or eyelet design. My bumpers are all eyelet. I'm thinking 7' to work on both designs. What length do are you guys using? Gonna start out easy, one color (black) and 1 length. Excited to add these to the line up! Keep up the good work on keeping Craig in check!
Fire away below or PM me if ya want.

So is the design idea to thread the line through the EZfender than tie it to the fender? And the other end (with the logo) can't slip through the EZfender?

Got a package in the mail today, thanks for the quick shipping! I vote for the 7' line. I have random ropes tied up to my fenders due to the odd situations I usually tie up to. We take the boat all over so anything from really high docks, full sea wall with a ladder. Just depends on where we go. With a longer line it's also possible to hang 2 fenders from one rope ( tie point in the middle) done that before. Just last weekend with the water so high on the great lakes I had to float the fenders on their side to keep the log from hitting the dock. I think 7' lines would be great!

Steve, no the line goes through the eyelet in the bumper, then passes though the loop on the next to the EZFENDER tag. The loose end passes through the EzFender bracket. so the tag will actually be next to the bumper. Just like Shaun's pic above. I'll toss a pic together on a bumper. Working nights at the chem plant, so will be later on.

Shaun, super pics..... you will love them! And ya, the black does look great on the silver rails. Adds some cool contrast. NICE!!!! Thanks again, buddy!

That makes more sense. I thought you were coming up with a design that would basically make the lines and fenders "permanent" on the EZfenders. I know others will disagree, but to me having fenders deployed while underway is a rookie move and looks terrible. On my lake, It's a great way to have people point and laugh!

Oh, gotcha! No, I have been getting alot of questions on what are the best lines to use. So I thought to myself.... "self, lets check into this and have someone custom make some line's" So I did. These are made by to my spec's and I am having them double UV coated before final packaging. They are super nice! Soft, flexible and float if dropped. And they won't dry rot or mildew, even if stored wet. I'm about a month out on my first order, but it will worth it to offer high quality lines. They are made in the USA, too. Just like my EZ's and hardware. No overseas crap from this guy!
And ya, I agree, Steve, I always pull mine in and remove them when underway, That's the main reason I invented the Ez's. Make life easier and less stressful on the water.
