I just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone here and also say that I'm glad that you guys have carried on the pontoon forum......

I was the one that started the MSN pontoon group that John had taken over for me after I lost the "passion" for pontoon boating. I had originally had it set up on Yahoo until there became too much cr*p on the forums and had moved it to MSN. Back when I had started the MSN forum, it was too much money and I didn't have the backround to start up a Forum such as this. NICE JOB and keep up the good work!

It was a pleasure to get to know John as well as others on the MSN forum. I remember when I was looking at "moving on" from the forum that John had dropped me an email and said that he would take it over...........during the 2-3 month "learning curve" that he had, John & I were in constant contact - almost daily - whether it was questions/comments or the daily joke or two that he was good for! 8)

I probably won't post much or at all because I'm a few years removed from pontoon boats...........although I have been lurking around the MSN and PDB Mag forums from time to time.

After John had passed, I was trying to get in contact with MSN to regain my Admin "privilages" but without success. They just kept telling me to start a new one.

Take care every one and keep John in our thoughts!

Hey Rus!! That is super cool that you stopped in to say hi!

I am glad to get another bit of info on the history...

I started the site because I thought it would be fun to meet some other pontooners and I was not dissapointed!

Hope you stick around and at least joke a bit in the off topic!

I found the dedication but I am having trouble posting it to my website and to this site. AS soon as I can get it to either one I will post the link.

Not only did 6 X 6 have a toon, but he had a truck camper and several other toys in a carport behind his house. He introduced me to several other forums, where I have spent countless "wasted" hours sucking up other peoples knowledge. Someday I will know it all. :boohoo

I got to know him real well also. We talked on the phone all the time. We also talked guns a lot and he talked me into getting several that I would not have even considered. On the lighter side, here is a pic he sent me the first time I asked him what he looked like!!!!

Yea he was a funny guy, he use to love it when you left a post open ended, like one post I made when we were talking about pulling a pontoon with a hard top.

I said wouldn't be harder to pull it on a trailer, I didn't know the top folded down at the time.

John's reply was you can pull it on the trailer, but be careful not to fall off. :rofl :rofl :rofl
