New to toons' - bracket

What are the brackets for that are welded on the back of the pontoons....are they for planing assists, or some other reason....steps?

25' Bennington used 2001 with a Yamaha 115 - twin tubes, not tri-tube. Trailer boater.
New to pontoons.

Mounting for Depth finder transducers, live well pumps, speedo etc
