Stainless Prop for Evinrude Etec

#1 Post by swa1984 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:41 pm

I own a 2009 24ft Premier with the PTX package. I want a little more performance. I have a 150 HP Evinrude Etec. My max RPM on this motor is 5750. I have a 15x17 and full throttle is 5000 RPMS. Any suggestions would help on what size I need.

I have a 25' with a honda 150, I would go with a 15 pitch, and possibly even a 14 pitch. You want wide open throttle to hit 6000 rpm, and realize that when you have a fully loaded boat, you want to hit still be able to hit 5500 RPM and have a decent speed. Check out my posts concerning props. (I have helped a lot of people with prop questions). Good luck. Remember, if you want pure speed, we both should have gone with the 225hp :alright (if I could pick money off of trees).

So what we both have to strive for is a balance between hopefully hitting 30 mph with just one or two people on board, and being able to tow at tube @ 25mph or run 25 with a full boat load of people. If you rig your boat to run 35mph with just you, your boat will dog/bog down with a boat load of people.

Good luck!
Sunrises, Sunsets, God and Country, Family and Friends enjoyed on my 2009 25' Voyager Fish and Cruise Dlx w/ Honda 225 (Top speed 42MPH light, from a 150-225 and added lifting strakes)

thinking 15 but in the enertia 16.................dang sorry just sold on the enertia......first tried the 17p an turned 5300max the 15 will put you where you need to be but since the enertia (merc prop) is an alloy and the claim you can run 1 p higher than normal. At least you are better off than the guy they hung a 19p on a 150...........can't believe some of these props they are putting on when being rigged. Should pick up 3 to 4 mi/hr on the top end. If you are still in contact with the dealer an bought new hopefully he will work with you on it.
