Welcome and congrats on the new 'toon from a fellow Xcursion owner! We have an X-25RL in the exact same color scheme as yours. I also transitioned from a v-hull fiberglass boat (19-footer) and the difference in ride and comfort is nothing short of amazing. Enjoy!
[EDIT]: Just want to add one little piece of advice - if you have a question for Xcursion, you might want to try calling them on the phone - don't use the e-mail contact form on their web page. I sent a very simple tech inquiry to them on May 31st, received an immediate reply from their auto-responder, and haven't heard back from them since.

Re: Hey All, New from Canada
Well the first trip out went awsome, except the 15 pitch prop was NFG and we got up to about 19 mph and after that all it did was rev higher and no more power... and I mean it was way off. We bbq'd on the boat and it was just an awsome evening.
Last weekend the dealership gave me a 17 and 19 pitch prop to take with me to the lake. Well the 17 pitch still only gave me about 19-20 mph and at full throttle it over reved at about 6600 rpm, so we switched her out to the 19. Well that got my top speed to about 20-21mph at 5500 rpm but I still had throttle left which just reved higher again and didn't go any faster. At full throttle I was at like 6200rpm..
So once back to town I called the dealership and they have no idea right now. They say my boat should be a fair bit faster than what it's giving me and that there is no way I should be able to over rev with that 19 pitch prop on the 115. I dropped the boat back off and they are going to test the tach and scan the motor and see what they can find out.
Do any of you think the leg may not be in the water far enough? or have any other ideas. I mean that thing shoots out of the hole and is up to 19-20 mph right away but nothing after that... oh and those speeds are gps speeds from the fishfinder it came with. It also didn't seem to matter if there were 2 of us on the boat or 5 of us. I don't know enough about boats so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!
I would think you should be running 25 maybe a bit more at 6000 max. Sounds like the dealer is working with you so let's see what they come up with.

Re: Hey All, New from Canada
ok well got the boat back and they said there is no problem with it on land testing. They said it should not spin out that 19 prop so I asked them if they thought I was lying to them. Well right away they went on defence and apologized.... So next week the Service Manager and I are going to take the boat out in the evening for a cruise at a lake near by. In the mean time I am running a 13 x 19 prop on the boat...

Re: Hey All, New from Canada
Have you done any more testing?
I have a 22ft with a 115hp and the best I could get was 23.7 with a light loat at 6000 rpm - 11 pitch. With a 13 pitch I could only spin 5400 rpm, and about the same speed. I always had a little left in the throttle as well, but not more speed just rpm. I think this is about what you can expect on a 22-23 ft boat with couches in the front.
I would agree with the dealer pitch thoughts - no way I would think you could over rev anything over a 13-15 let alone a 19??
Is it a pontoon prop - big blade surface area, versus a conventional smaller bladed prop??
Good luck

Re: Hey All, New from Canada
Well we went out testing and right now i am running a stainless 16 pitch and pulling 23mph with a light load but still cavitating when playing with the trim. And I believe the problem is that this is just a powerboat prop, not a pontoon specific one. The dealership contacted me the other day to tell me that Xcursion boats informed them that I should try a mercury prop designed for a pontoon boat on my yamaha engine. So they have ordered one in and hopefully this week we will find out what happens. lol...
Apparently Yamaha's biggest pontoon specific prop is a 13 pitch and they don't think that will be enough pitch for my boat.... That being said we haven't actually tried it.

Re: Hey All, New from Canada
Well after much attempts at making me happy the dealership has offered to give me all my money back for my boat and for $9000 Upgrade me to a tri toon with strakes and performance package and a 150 yammy with hydraulic steering. That being said I have not decided what to do yet. I was talking to them yesterday and they have a brand new 2011 250hp yammy still in the crate that they have not be able to sell as they haven't found anyone crazy enough to buy it. So they are gonna try to get me a smokin deal on the 250 since it isn't a current year motor and they are trying to make me happy.
I can't say enough about my dealership though. Original sales of the boat should have been more informed and gave me more information about the boat when I purchased it however since the original purchase they have treated me like gold and done everything in their power up to now to make me happy. Hopefully we can come to an agreement and if we can't I will probably keep the boat I have and just enjoy it.
