Hello pontoon people. Thank you very much Herb for clearing the way to register!

This is my first post but I already have to say thanks for the information. Just roaming around at random I've found some answers to questions I had and questions I didn't know I had yet.

We've had the boat out four times so far with only a few first timer screw ups. Transom saver strap snapped so we drug that turd about a mile, dropped the trailer off the end of a shorter than expected ramp but with a quick recovery and got to experience a little submarine action when weather caught us off guard. Most of that was on the same trip. But practice makes perfect and we've gotten pretty good at this whole pontoon thing now.

Took the in-laws out today for the first time.

Welcome! Good to get those little mishaps out of the way early. Now you can really enjoy your outings! Sweet boat! The dog doesn't look too happy, yet... Probably wants to wakeboard.

It is pronounced elephant keeper. I've had that user name since the mid 90s but I stopped working with elephants over 7 years ago.
Evinrude2stroke, I still have some pictures on my flickr site. There are quite a few and large so I'll just post a link to the album if you're interested. Best job I ever had but the worst pay.

Badmoonrising, that's awesome to hear! We love ours too and count the days till we're off so we can get on the water. My only disappointment has been a few corners tracker cut to save some money, but so far they've all been easy and inexpensive to remedy. Otherwise, its very comfortable and all the fun we hoped for.

Thanks for the great welcome!

John

Yeah, my biggest "loss" was no more Duradeck (all aluminum deck). My older (2006)Tracker had it and Tracker discontinued it in 2010 to save $$$.

I love everything else about the boat, 50/50 love/hate on the vinyl deck though. My other boat had carpet.

No, the plywood deck isn't my favorite feature either. I know they warranty it but who wants to deal with having to get the deck replaced? I tossed around the idea of sealing the wood I could see on the bottom but if I don't seal the top and most importantly the edges there's little point. My boat isn't stored on the water so I think that will give me a bit more life on the deck.

I almost went with the vinyl deck when I considered having to clean carpet. The extra cost turned me off the idea.
