New member requesting to come aboard

#1 Post by crabnort » Sun Jul 04, 2010 7:28 am

Good morning to all,
Well after being a member of pdm forum for 5 yrs, I have found this site that seems to be much better.I hereby request permission to come aboard.I go by the screen name crabnort, but my real name is Bob. My family boats mostly in the n.j. rivers and bays, but on occassion you'll find us in Lake George N.Y. or Candlewood Lake in Connecticut where my eldest daughter lives.I am currently recovering from double shoulder replacements and have be delighted to see that boating although a little tougher this year is still something that i can handle. With the help of a couple of crew members and my trusty new electric winch, you probably wouldn't know the difference. Our boat,"The great E.P.B.s ALMA MARIE" is a 2005 hurricane 238 ref hybrid deckboat. I tow the lady with another fine gal, my 2001 dodge ram 1500 quad cab.We usually carry a large group consisting of my five children, their friends, loved ones, and our 10 yr. old schnoodle "Jake".Also,I almost forgot the most important LADY of all, My 88 yr. old mom Alma Marie.Well there you go,The story of the "Alma Marie" in a nutshell. With your permission,We'll all be most happy to be aboard. One last thought. We are all lucky to share the love for our pontoons and deckboats. No better way to cruise the great waterways of our great homeland.Safe boating to all.
Bob

Welcome. :biggrin2

I also got one question here, what is the other side that you all keep referring to, when I bought my pontoon in May/10 I found this site and joined up, but since than you all are talking about this other forum, was it that bad over there..

Freedom of speech was the main culprit. Also banning the members that do the majority of posting is another reason for it's demise. Hard to conduct a forum, if you can't talk................

Long story short-

If you posted anything pro Republican/conservative, it got deleted.

If you posted anything anti-Obama, it got deleted.

If you posted PG rated pics of girls in bikinis, it got deleted and you got PMs from the admins threatening banning.

They banned me 15 times (plus or minus).

Then the admins came over here and created fake accounts begging us all to come back. At least I got my money back for their crappy magazine. :thumbsup
