I went through three bass boats, , and from "pleasure fishing" to "pissed off for a week if I didn't place" tournament fishing.
I finally had enough (and so did the wife, who generally out fished me), so I sold the 80 mph Champion 191SC Tournament
boat with the souped up VMax 250, and found this beautiful, hardly used 1991 Harris that we now thoroughly enjoy just
leisurely cruising around the lake.
Fishing? We do something fun now - I cut up one of the neon green foam "floaties" into 6 one foot sections. We tie
about 4 feet of catfish cord onto them with a weight midway down the line, and a catfish hook at the end. The Mrs. uses
a variety of bait, and we just toss them over the side out in the middle of the lake and then go cruising.
Half an hour to an hour later, we start looking for them, and with a boat hook, the Mrs. will snag the line and pull them up.
Out of the 6 we throw out, we usually will get 3 or 4 nice catfish that go into a 5 gal. bucket and then to the cleaning table.
No competition, no stress....just riding around on the lake having fun!
